America's Miss USS is a separate title based on optional talent! The America's Miss title does not affect the outcome of Miss USS.

FORMAL
ATTIRE
Formal Wear/ Gown: Contestants in the 1st grade and up will wear a full-length, formal dress of their choice. Preschool through Kindergarten contestants may wear a short dress or long gown. Judges will not score the gown, but rather the overall appearance which includes the look, fit, and how well the color suits the contestant. Contestants will not have an assigned walking pattern. The stage will be set up in typical T-formation. Stage time limit: 90 seconds.
Required for all Miss USS contestants.


OPENING
PRODUCTION
Sponsored by Marc Defang: Contestants will model their purchased Marc Defang dress with their choice of shoes during the opening production. Contestants should introduce themselves giving their name and one fun fact. For Pre-K & Kindergarten contestants, the emcee will assist by asking this information. Judges are looking for a contestant that is naturally beautiful and is having fun. This category will take place following the opening number. Introduction time limit: 30 seconds
Interview: Contestants will meet with the judges for a panel-style interview. There are no right or wrong questions. There are no hard or trick questions. Our judges are warm and friendly and just want to get to know you better. Judges will be looking for a contestant that is well put together, confident, and friendly. Interview is private and panel style. Contestants may sit or stand. Sample questions are provided in our handbook.
Attire: Evening Gown (after modeling.
Miss Model America: Judges are looking for a beautiful face with minimal makeup, a well-groomed appearance, good posture, and a young lady that is poised and presents the outfit attractively. Accessories should complement the outfit, and the outfit and total effect should be well coordinated. You may choose the outfit you model. The outfit should be a color and style that enriches your natural beauty.
America's Miss USS: Judges will be looking for a contestant that has natural talent in any talent presentation. Time limit: 2 minutes.
Photogenic: You have nothing to submit. Wendy Smith after interview. The judges will choose from these photos. Judges will be looking for facial beauty, photo clarity, and overall appeal. Judges will be looking for a beautiful girl with a great personality. This award is double crowned. One overall winner will be named per division. In addition, a contestant will also be named per grade level.
Most Promising Model: Upload a mixture of five photos. This award chosen by our judges.
Coloring Contest: Use crayons or markers to decorate the inserted coloring sheet. Be creative! You can cut, paste, and add sparkles to the coloring sheet. Please be sure that the work is done by the contestant.
Coloring sheets may be downloaded in the backstage area and are also included in the handbook.
Prizes
